Cowburger?

While eating supper tonight (a hamburger) I was pondering the thought of why we call them hamburgers. They don't come from pigs, A.K.A. ham, so why do we call them hamburgers...?
They should be called beefburgers....or something along those lines...enough with all this false advertising...hamburgers pffft....
Then again, hotdogs aren't made from dogs...or are they? No, no they're not.

mmm...baby burgers

Tuesday Tunes: ERTH DAY!

Happy Earth Day to all! Our world is in big trouble and we seriously need to start doing something about it. I'm doing my small part by planting a tree tomorrow. I'm going to keep track of it's growth and keep you updated through the blog. Pics will be up tomorrow.
In celebration of Earth Day I present to you: Michael Jackson's Earth Song

CREEPY....

Ever think to yourself: "I really like the Simpsons, but dang it, I just wish they were real?"
Yeah me neither... but for some strange reason someone has put together these videos that show how the Simpsons would look if they were real. Creepy, cool, don't really care?... you decide:

The Reality Simpsons

While we're on the subject, here is what I believe to be a more realistic depiction of the Simpsons opening:

and finally, something I've definitely never seen before...an Indian version of the opening. It's not really the one they show in India, it's just something that someone made for fun:

Tuesday Tunes!

This is pretty darn cool. This guy created a song using only sounds from Windows XP and Windows 98. It must have taken him hours to make, but I think it's totally worth it...sort of:

The song is only about 1:31 but after he shows you the sounds that he uses.

Here is a downloadable version of the song as well:
High-quality stereo MP3:

Just found this as well. It's a Mac version using sounds from Mac OSX

O 69!

Well, last night I went to a real bingo hall for the very first time and I have to say it was quite fun! I didn't win anything but i'm on my way to an early gambling addiction! Yay!
As I was playing, I was reminded of a particular video that I have loved for a long time now. It's from the guys at Picnicface and I must say it is an absolute riot! It's called Super Bingo
Check it out:

Tuesday Tunes!

This is so awesome...
Here is a description from the creator:
I thought "wouldn't it be a good idea if there was a band that, instead of playing instruments, just repeatedly spoke the title of their instrument to the tune of the song" then I thought "No it'd be terrible and they'd get nowhere" So I tried it myself.

I think it turned out quite well actually (kinda catchy):

shredding, shredding, shredding, shredding, shredding...

Pareidolia!

I'm absolutely fascinated by this fairly new phenomena called Pareidolia...Basically it's when you see a face on an inanimate object. Here are some of my favourite examples...

Global What?

If you've never seen Al Gore's documentary on global warming you should definitely check it out...
One of the best parts of the movie is the explanation about global warming in Futurama style. Lucky for you I have that portion right here:

Tuesday Tunes! April Fool's Day edition

I would have loved to show you today's music video...but unfortunately I can't embed it here. So you'll just have to go that extra step and follow this link if you want to see the vid. The song is called April Fools by Rufus Wainwright. It's slightly catchy and a little confusing towards the end...why does everyone die? (or do they?) Anyways you should check it out:
