MACCLENNY, FL -- Someone tried to steal guns from Hole in the Wall gun and antique store by busting a hole in the wall...
Maybe the burglars saw the sign and got a clue.
"How do you stop somebody from beating through a concrete wall with apparently a sledge hammer," Bill Krall, Hole in the Wall Guns owner, told First Coast News' Erich Spivey.
Someone is targeting Bill Krall's gun shop in Baker County, appropriately called Hole in the Wall. Last Monday, the burglars left behind rubble and the guns, apparently spooked off by police.
This isn't the first time someone has tried to bust through Hole in the Wall. Last month, burglars hopped bushes to start their attack.
Investigators say the burglars took more than 10 guns in the two burglaries, but they've recovered most of them.
If you've never heard the term fail or epic fail, I highly suggest you check out www.failblog.org Basically a fail picture (or video) is exactly what it sounds like, someone or something that was highly unsuccessful or an idea that flopped. Here's an example an obvious fail:
and here's one of my favourite fails: and finally a street sign fail...which I cannot understand why someone didn't notice: the best part is....it's a DEAD END!
This video explains everything you need to know about bananas!
but just in case it didn't explain everything...
Banana is the common name for a fruit and also the herbaceous plants of the genus Musa which produce this commonly eaten fruit. They are native to the tropical region of Southwest Asia. Bananas are likely to have been first domesticated in Papa New Geuinea. Today, they are cultivated throughout the tropics.
and just for fun...here's a video that won't tell you anything about bananas other than the fact that bananas are crazy.
This is pretty sweet...and so simple too. It's Charlie Brown's T-shirt! It can be yours for only $20! http://www.teefinder.com/t-shirts/Charlie-Browns-Shirt-T-Shirt.html?sid=385758601209
I'll let you in on a little secret. Many of the posts on this blog are found online and I bookmark them so that I can find them easier and include them when the time is right. Unfortunately sometimes these interesting things sit in my bookmark folder for months at a time. I currently have a backlog of about 11 things that should be posted, but sometimes there are things that take a higher priority, for example, the following video. I randomly came across this and knew right away that it had to be posted immediately. I have a feeling that you'll either find this incredibly humorous or think I'm a total D-Bag for posting it.
It certainly was! Some friends and I went to Canada's Wonderland for the annual Halloween Haunt event. I have to be honest I was a little scared (I'm a wuss when it comes to scary things), but once we were there I was really excited and couldn't wait to go through some of the Haunted Houses! The first one we went through was called Massacre Manor and it was one of the only houses that gave me a real good scare. Throughout the night we went on some roller coasters as well and my one friend Kiera kept asking me to do magic tricks for the people around us in line. Eventually I did and it became a little ritual to perform for the people in front, behind, and in some cases all around us. While we waited in line for the Vortex coaster we met this one girl who can only really be classified as Genuine Crazy. She thought it would be a good idea to come to the park in slippers, or should I say "slipper." You see, she was wearing a shoe...and a slipper...a dolphin slipper...named "Flipper." and she felt the need to keep announcing to everyone in the line that her slipper was a female dolphin and that it's name was "Flipper." I managed to haggle (read: asked) her for a photo in exchange for a magic trick. Luckily she obliged and I got this wonderful souvenir:
Anyways, we went continued through the line and just as we were about to get on Vortex the announced that the ride was closed due to weather conditions. We were rather pissed. So we decided to try some more haunted houses and I must say I'm quite pedantic (overly concerned with minute details or formalisms) and in my opinion the houses were rather lackluster (Lacking brightness, luster, or vitality; dull).
The one thing that most people were very happy about was...
BEHEMOTH! I've been on the ride several times now, but nothing compares to going on it at night...in the dark! You can't see the track that well and the wind makes it seem like you're going that much faster.
The final house of the night was "Clowns at Midnight" which we just so happened to go through at midnight, which made it really literal (but not anymore terrifying)
I decided to see what would happen to the "scareactors" if I did my famous "puking the cards from the mouth trick." (see photo)
As it turns out, the people inside "Clowns at Midnight" went from creepy clown people to normal people in a second. The one guy kept asking me to do it again, but the best was the guy who said "That's the craziest shit i've seen all night!"
So all in all it was a pretty awesome time and I can't wait to go back next year!
BUT the biggest, craziest, and most scary thing of the night came long after we had left the park. We were all hungry so we decided to stop at Wendy's for some food. There was this long ass line that wasn't moving, but we decided to stick it out. Then when we were getting a little bit closer, these 3 people cut right to the front of the line to "look at the menu." Everyone knew right away that they had an attitude and that they were really trying to get ahead of everyone. People started complaing both to the cutters and to the Wendy's staff, yet neither of them were doing anything about it. That's when this big black guy behind us started to get confrontational with the line cutters. My favourite quote from the guy behind us had to be: "You get outta my face BITCH...Fuckin' Mouthpiece!" The lady taking working the counter eventually took their order, much to the amazement and anger of the people who had been waiting in line for at least 20 minutes.
Luckily I got it all on tape with my handy-dandy camera phone...Enjoy!
I'm not quite sure if today's Tuesday Tunes post really counts as a music video, but it features music and a video.
Before I get to the video I have one thing to say. There's something about little British kids that just irritates me to no end, their accent...don't get me wrong I love the British accent, but when little kids have it, it sounds more annoying than nails on a blackboard.
Here's the video (more comments after)
My first gripe is with the kid at 8 seconds. This is the perfect example of the annoying little accent. For some reason I have this idea in my head that all British kids are little brats, it's probably just stereotypical TV and Movies that have made me think this way, but check out the girl on the far left at 9/10 seconds. It's very obvious that she needs the attention as she pushes her way through the other actors.
Next point of interest, the lyrics "It's a brilliant new toothpaste, like the colour, love the taste." The shot right after them saying this shows the kids EATING the toothpaste...
Also the line "It's from Colgate, we can tell!" no shit...it says it on the tube...
Does anyone know what they're saying at 19 seconds? "I want bumble hair???"
and one final thing (as a friend brought up) Don't most British people have bad teeth?!?
ANYWAYS, that's enough criticizing for now, although there is another video about the "New Colgate Pump!:
This video is a winner right from the start because it features the band "Justice", which is sort of a misnomer because they aren't really a band, but rather a duo French Electronica musicians. but this video wins for another reason... OLD PEOPLE DANCING! WOOO! Who doesn't love it when old people try to dance?
Anyways, this video is really up for interpretation and according to one YouTuber this is what it is trying to show:
"I think this video is brilliant, taking the supremely mundane event of another little girls birthday and making it meld with the song by using somber lighting, clipping and slowing down the video and adding the subtext of a dead grandmother and the necklace the girl inherits. It tells a story, and adds humor to an event that might otherwise be something eerie or depressing."
That's a lot of reading so why don't we just watch the video...
What is Your Favourite Fairytale Creature?Sept. 16, 2002 "My favourite fairytale creature are the ones from Harry Potter. I like the griffin and Fluffy the 3 headed dog. I think the gremlins at Gringotts bank are scary looking."
Oh Harry Potter how I loved thee so much more when I was younger...
I recently stumbled across my journal from Gr. 7 and it's quite amusing to read some of the old entries. I've decided that this week I'll post a new story every day. Today's entry is about what I thought I would be doing when I was 25 years old.
25November 11/2002 "When I am 25 I hope to be a magician working at M.T. Bellies or doing stage shows. I will have my own house and a car. I will make lots of money. I will have lots of magic friends and will be a much better magician."
Wow...pretty optimistic huh?
While most of it is true I can see now that I probably won't own a house by the time i'm 25, but hopefully I will have a car sooner than later.
Sarah Palin annoys me so much! She knows nothing about politics and she is certainly not ready to be vice-president. This video just makes me laugh, the only people dumber than Sarah Palin are her followers:
When I stumbled across this video, I was so happy. All of my classmates gathered around the warm glow of my laptop computer screen to bask in the glory of: "Don't Put It In your Mouth." This was a PSA from the mid 90's from the "Concerned Children's Advertisers." The only thing I'm concerned about is the creepy pedophile lion at the end of the clip...
Fergie likes to partay! Actually the Venga Boys like to party and I know that everyone has heard this song at some point in their life, but I had never seen the music video for it before tonight, and now all of you can see this masterpiece too!
Today marks my television broadcast premier! I was featured as a student in a 20 sec. commercial for the Liberal Party of Canada, which aired nationally (across Canada!!!) on Canada AM this morning. It will also air on Friday, but if you want to see the commercial it's available from the CTV website right here:
http://watch.ctv.ca/news/election-2008/ad-challenge/#clip100326 (The commercial starts at 1:11 into the clip and that's me in the green/blue striped shirt)
The commercial was shot in 35 millimeter film (same as feature films), and marks the first time any of the Niagara College student directors have been able to shoot in such an impressive format.
FUN FACT #1: The ball rolling into the hole at 1:21 was a really tricky shot and took at least 20 takes!
FUN FACT #2: I can also be seen at 1:24 planting a tree in the background!
I've always enjoyed stop animation. You can do lots of neat things with it and lately I've found lots of interesting examples from YouTube. Here are just 2 that I think are pretty sweet.:
I don't know which show this comes from, but I'd like to watch more of it because it's pretty funny. In this clip one of the hosts decides to test cliche porn characters in the real world. Check it:
It seems that if you are an aspiring band and you can get your song in an iTunes commercial you'll pretty much be set.
I think just about all of the songs i've heard from the commercials have become very popular for at least a few months. One of the more recent commercials i've seen, featured the Ting Tings and their song "Shut Up and Let Me Go." I was immediately hooked (just like everyone else) and just the other day I decided to see if there was a music video for the song and it just so turns out there is!
and just in case you wanted a behind the scenes look, here is a making of the video:
I just got another call on my cellphone from some stranger who had the wrong number. In total that's about 5 wrong calls over the past 2 months or so. It's friggin' ridiculous! and it's not like my number is common or anything...geez.
I found this just minutes ago...quite by accident. It's not quite a music video like the other Tuesday Tunes posts are, but it has music and dancing so I figured it qualified. Meet Jorg!
I have wasted so much of my precious life playing Dolphin Olympics 2. It's amazingly addictive and if you've ever played you'll know exactly what I mean. Basically the game is thus: you're a dolphin and you have to do tricks to get a big score, but the real fun of the game is trying to get as far up in space as you can. Lemme 'splain...the more tricks you do successfully the faster you go, the faster you go the higher you get when you jump...so as long as you keep your score going and keep getting higher and higher you will eventually be able to reach the sun, the moon, and all the other planets, sorry Pluto :(
You have to try out this game, what could possibly be better than Dolphins In Space?!?
No I don't really have the freshman 15....yet, and I don't plan on it either. Well i'm living the College life...except i'm still living at home and not much has changed. My classes are really fun though, for instance, today's class starts at 1:30 and it's just 3 hours of improv. I'm pretty friggin' excited! It's weird getting up at 9:30 and having all this free time until school starts. It's almost like an extra weekend.
This thing is amazing! If you've ever been confused about what the different forms of electronic music are (techno, trance, dance, house, breakbeat...it goes on and on and on...) then you should certainly check out Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music! I love electronic music, there's just something about it that makes me wanna dance. The guide is pretty darn comprehensive and you may feel overwhelmed at first. There is a tutorial available but I would say the best thing to do is just dive in and listen to the samples. You can waste a lot of time searching through this guide, but it's fun to see the progression of electronic music through the ages.
We've all seen examples of optical illusions before but this video shows some pretty kick-ass illusions, even some that i've never seen before. This video is brought to you by none other than Bill Nye the Science Guy!
I've stumbled across this video and can't find any info about it. No creator, no origin, nothing. It's random and that's about all that needs to be said.
Tonight we have one of my favourite songs...and it will get stuck in your head. It's called "DVNO" and it's by the French electronic dance band Justice. Justice has had several other videos posted on the blog before, most notably their hit song "D.A.N.C.E."
The song's music video is directed by So-Me, Yorgo Tloupas and Machine Molle; it features the song's lyrics turned into animated 80's-style logos of familiar companies, such as HBO, 20th Century Fox, Cannon Films, NBC, PBS, Sega, and CBS Fox Video with band members Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Auge playing piano at the end.
de Rosnay had this to say about the title: "DVNO" stands for "Divino." "In every suburb of the world, in every city, there's always a nightclub called El Divino... Clubs where you have to wear a white shirt to get in." The song is super catchy and has some sweet animation so what are you waiting for check it fool:
*UPDATE* Here are some remixed videos that show a few of the original TV intros that became the inspiration for DVNO.
After what seemed like a long hiatus...Tuesday Tunes is back...again! Today's video is called "Roots of Breakdance" and it's a mash-up of an old Soviet dance number and Run DMC's song "It's Like That." The video and music sync together very nicely even though they were orginally never related. The outcome is an amazing video, but don't take my word for it, here are some YouTube comments on the video:
"The timing with the music is perfect! The song was made 4 this dance!" - Crueldevise
"That was so cool Russians are awesome!" - Stevesiekingsley
"Honestly, today's "hip hop" dancing doesn't have shit on this." - ccisbeast
but don't take their word for it...check out the video:
I've always loved playing around with photos...and there's no better program than Photoshop to do so. I'm certainly no expert on the subject of photo manipulation, but recently i've discovered some really really cool features. They're called filters and I had heard about them before, but I never really investigated what they could do. Yesterday I was like a kid in a candy store toying around with all the different artistic filters and here is what I came up with!
Ok so, maybe it isn't really the end of the world...but what if it was?!? I think it would go something like this
Have you realized just how small we actually are in the universe. This short film seems quite boring, but amazed me after watching the entire thing.
Now, considering the world has ended you have a lot of free time on your hands and you're gonna want to fill that time. Well i'm here to help! Visit Universe Ends There you can read some blogs, watch some movie reviews, chat, and find out how to reduce your carbon footprint.

Fergie's Findings is officially 1 year old! Well actually the blog birthday was on Sunday...but I wanted to wait until Tuesday in order to post this Tuesday Tunes BIRTHDAY EDITION!
I thought we'd take a glimpse back at some of my all-time favourite posts...
Buy this if you wanna look like a douchebag...it's only $600 and you'll be the coolest kid on the block...
My favourite part is the cheesy captions: "Be a hero" (as in guitar hero), "Be a one-man rock band" (cause you have no friends!), and "More cowbell!" (oh god they ruined one of the greatest SNL skits ever!)
You don't have to scream for your Slurpee, you can get one for free at 7/11 today! I got mine! You see, it's 7/11's birthday today (7 month + 11th day = clever ) and for today only you can get a free small Slurpee (actually even smaller than their smallest cup size) I've been to 7/11 in the United States but never in Canada. As soon as I walked in there I immediately felt as though I had been transported to the U.S. of A. The store looked pretty much like the ones I had seen minus the Krispy Kreme donuts :( I walked into the store not knowing if Canada was participating in the promotion...luckily they were! I faced a wall of flavours and chose G-FORCE by Gatorade. A bright orange concoction of Slurpee goodness. Here are some pics:
You can gauge the size of the cup as compared to my hand...pretty tiny...
